NEW YORK GOSPEL MINISTRIES EXISTS TO

glorify God by advancing the Gospel through strategic church planting with kingdom partnerships both in New York and abroad.

we believe IN THE AUTHORITY OF BIBLICAL TEACHING

The Holy Bible, both the Old and New Testaments, in its entirety is revelation breathed out by God.  The very words of the original writings are inerrant in every area.  Believers should embrace a Biblical World View to understand how to properly respond to the cultural issues in the City.

There is one God, eternally existing in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth in six 24-hour days.

Adam, the first man, was created in the image of God. He sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death, which is separation from God. All his descendants are born with his sinful nature and are charged with his guilt. God created Eve from Adam’s side and ordained that marriage would be between a naturally born man and a naturally born woman.  God created two genders, male and female.  Life begins at conception and Believers should affirm the sanctity of life both inside and outside of the womb.

Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and man. He is one eternal person with two distinct, inseparable natures. He is the eternal Son of God with all the attributes of essential deity. He is the virgin born, Son of Man with all the attributes of essential humanity. He is the second Adam from heaven whose perfect righteousness and vicarious death are the basis of salvation. He perfectly obeyed the law of God and then paid the penalty of the broken law by dying on the cross. His death satisfied the justice of God.  He rose bodily from the grave, demonstrating that he was the Messiah and Son of God. He ascended into heaven to sit at the right hand of God the Father as our advocate. He will personally, visibly, physically return, at a time known only to the Father to complete God’s eternal plan of redemption. He will judge the world, and reign in righteousness for eternity. We are patiently, waiting, watching, and looking for his soon return.

Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in the merit of Christ alone, according to the Scriptures alone, for the glory of God alone.  Man cannot be saved by his own works of righteousness, but God graciously allows the perfect obedience of Christ and His vicarious sacrifice to count for any and all who will put their faith in Him as their personal Savior.  If an individual confesses with his mouth that Jesus is the Lord and believes in his heart that God raised Him from the dead, he will be saved.  In Christ we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our sins.  God predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself.  He chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him.  Being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, God made us alive together with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.  The believer will obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away.  That inheritance is reserved in heaven for us for we are protected and kept by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Upon death the believer is absent from his body and present with the Lord.  At death the spirits of the unbelievers will descend into Hell to await their coming judgment.   At this judgment they will be resurrected, judged and cast into the literal Lake of Fire, a place of everlasting punishment which was prepared for the devil and his angels.

The Holy Spirit is a divine person, and one with the Father and the Son. His passion is to make Christ known.  He was sent to convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgment.  He regenerates, seals and empowers the believer to testify of Christ and gain victory over his flesh.  To every believer He imparts spiritual gifts, which reflect the ministry of Christ.  With reference to the gift of tongues, it was the ability to speak in a known human language.

Satan is a fallen angelic personality.  He is the deceiver and god of this present age.  He is the accuser of the brethren.  In God’s timing, he will be thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone and will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

The Church is an assembly of believers from all nations who have been regenerated and baptized with the Holy Spirit into one body.  The Church’s mission is to disciple the nations by sharing the gospel of God, baptizing believers, and teaching all the saints to observe all that the Lord has commanded.  Obedience to God is a mark of saving faith.  The Church is the pillar and ground of the truth.  Each believer must personally separate from worldliness and doctrinal impurity.  The Church is to contend for the faith and maintain a unity with believers who hold to the fundamentals of historic Christianity.  The Pastoral/Elder/Bishop leadership in the church is to be solely performed by men who are ordained to that ministry.  According to the Scripture, in the local church women are not to teach or exercise authority over men.  God has ordained male leadership in the home and local church to mirror His authority in the lives of His people.
